Angie is a mom, engineer and dedicated CrossFit athlete and enjoys helping her fellow Black Box Fitness members reach their full potential.
Angie is a New Mexico native – born and raised in Los Alamos. She married her high school sweetheart and has lived in Albuquerque since 1997.
While busy raising three kids, she discovered CrossFit in 2013 and fell in love with the sport. She has been a dedicated to “the sport of fitness” ever since and earned her Level 1 coaching certification in 2017. She hopes to earn more certifications in the near future, including CrossFit Masters, all while helping her fellow Black Box Fitness athletes reach their full potential.
Angie was first introduced to Olympic lifting while a student at Tulane University, where she pursued her bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering. During her junior year there, she was named the 1993 Louisiana Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year. She was also a 4-year varsity letterman on the Green Wave division I volleyball team.
Angie also earned a Master of Science in Engineering from Rice University as a National Science Foundation Graduate Scholarship student.
