Competitions are the best way to measure progress. They provide grounds with set standards that allow you to measure how well your training has worked for you. CrossFit tends to repeat a workout from the previous Open allowing you to do exactly that. Didn’t compete last year? No biggie, you may have done an Open WOD during a class. And, when you do the Open next year, you’ll have a baseline.
Trust me, these happen every year. DEAL.
The adrenaline you experience during one of these workouts will lead you to rally like you may have never done before. A Competition Day is different than just another day of training at the gym. You couldn’t Clean & Jerk 100#’s in class? I bet you’ll surprise yourself. If you are chasing your white whale of a pull-up of muscle-up, you will surprise yourself. You will push yourself harder than you have before. You will dig deeply for that extra rep. You will make every second count. And, #someonegettheAED
I know you do. You will get to do so many!
Open Workouts at the gym are some of the most exciting classes during the year. The room is charged with anticipation, screams of encouragement and inspiration. Not only are you doing this with everyone in the room, you are sharing the experience with thousands and thousands of other athletes around the world.
More importantly, there can’t be an #openWOD without a #postWODbrunch with lots of #bacon.
You’ve trained for this since summer of last year. This is your year to make it to Regionals. This is your year to make it to the Games.
Seriously, who cares? You don’t need to have ambitions of scoring in the top 30, 100 or even 500. The workouts all begin at a level where ANYONE can compete. If you need to scale the rest of it, do it and you will get your workout in for the day.
Feel free to incorporate these as well: #whatisahashtag #arms #abz #elitezumba #forgingelitebootcamp
